The Sanskar Guru

The Sanskar Guru would be true followers of human values; would believe in “simple living and high thinking”; would work with missionary zeal and would enjoy working with young children. They would be lively, energetic, creative and innovative. The conduct & behavior of Sanskar Gurus would be such that they could become the Role Models for children and inspire them through their conduct, behaviour and multidimensional personality.

The young NTT/ECCE or any equivalent trained, females would be selected as Sanskar Gurus. The Guru would be preferably, an unmarried female, in the age group of 18-24 years so that she could understand the psychology of the children and could mix-up with them in such a way that they would trust and have total faith in her and revere her. The prime duty of Sanskar Guru is to empower & inspire the children to imbibe human values through the process of ‘Sanskar’.

Main Responsibilities of Sanskar Guru


(a) The Sanskar Guru would manage the activities of Sanskar Vatikas. She is also expected to decorate the Sanskar Vatika and keep its surrounding neat, clean and beautiful. She would maintain a nature friendly and holistic environment/atmosphere in Sanskar Vatika. Proper display of children's creative works would also be their responsibility.

(b) Sanskar Guru would conduct/organize the programmes/activities of the Sanskar Vatika in such a way that whole hearted participation of children is ensured. These value rich programmes/activities would be planned according to the age group of the children to satisfy their curiosity and to provide plenty of fun, pleasure and entertainment to them. The Sanskar Guru would also organise value rich special programmes like film shows, cartoon show, workshops, symposiums etc. to enrich the experience of the children. The Sanskar Guru would make use of various innovative and flexible methods which would enable the children to ‘imbibe human values.

(c) To provide a broad spectrum experience to the Children, Sanskar Guru would also interact with various artists such as singers, dancers, magicians, puppeteers etc and invite them to perform their programmes at Sanskar Vatika(s).

(d) Sanskar Guru would identify the negative and positive tendencies of children and assist them in eliminating the negative ones, and strengthening the positive ones and also create such situations, which would help them in imbibing those human values which are lacking in them. She is expected to know the psychology of the children, their attitudes, aptitudes, abilities, likes and dislikes.

(e) The Sanskar Guru would create an intimate environments where children would feel oneness with the Guru. She would behave like a mother who plays, acts, and sometimes imitates her child to eliminate their physical or psychological differences between them,

(f) Sanskar Guru would also interact and develop Rapport with Parents by frequent, useful and meaningful, interactions to understand their family environment, atmosphere and traditions as well as the weakness and strengths of their children. Sanskar Guru would communicate and advice the parents in an informal and cordial way in case their family environment/atmosphere is required to be improved to make it conducive for imbibing human values. ‘Sanskar Guru’ has to identify the prominent qualities of every child and discuss them with the parents.

(g) The Sanskar Guru would also invite the parents periodically to Sanskar Vatika and plan enrichment programme for them. Some expert speakers may be called for the purpose. The details of such programme for parents would be planned carefully and exhaustively with inbuilt flexibility.

(h) Sanskar Guru will prepare and maintain a Record of each child containing their observations on daily basis. A cumulative report would be prepared periodically.

In brief the role and responsibilities of Sanskar Gurus are multi dimensional and they are expected to be skilled in Managerial, Communicational, Professional techniques. They would not be gurus only, they would become Trend Setters.
